Suspended magnet serves to separate ferromagnetic components from other bulk or liquid substances. This type of separator is used in the following industries: food industry, plastic processing, construction, ceramics and recycling. The source of the magnetic field is a magnetic circuit with neodymium magnets.
The box covering the magnetically active surface and its sides, as well as the chute channel, are made of acid-resistant steel. The chute channel facilitates cleaning of the separator from the captured impurities and protects the separator from being hit and rubbed by the separated material. The separator has 12 M10 threaded holes (4 on the bottom and 4 on each of the two sides of the separator). The separator step makes it difficult for the captured elements to be torn off by the cleaning jet, at most moving them to the base of the step where the induction and attraction force are the strongest.
The magnetic induction at the base of the step is approximately 6000 Gs ( 0.6 T).
The magnetic induction at a distance of 60 mm from the separator surface is about 830 to 1000 Gs ( 0.083-0.100 T), which justifies the height of the working layer of separated raw material at about 60 mm. The layer thickness depends on the bulk weight of the raw material, its moisture content and the feed (flow) rate.
On request, we manufacture suspended separators of any desired dimensions. Magnetic parameters, operating range and dimensions are selected according to customer requirements.
Sintered neodymium magnets are used in the magnetic separator. The maximum operating temperature with neodymium magnets is approximately 80°[C].
The principle of the separator is outlined below:
